How to develop Informative Content

Content that is unique, fresh, informative and relevant adds life to a website. No amount of graphics, images, animation, designing and layout can replace the importance of the content. Content, properly written, is also an excellent search engine optimization tool if interspersed with proper keywords. Hence content not only adds value to a web page but also affects its ranking on the search engine. Search engines are always on the look out for content that is rich and different, along with gelling with the basic theme of the web page.

Good and proper content can bolster website promotion tremendously. Content writing and development is not just about writing one's thoughts on the Internet randomly. Instead online content should be organized and systematic in order to attract traffic and appear on the SERP (Search Engine Results Page). The language should be flowing and easy to understand, and should have the ability to hold the reader's attention. At the same time, the underlying concept of online content is to advertise and promote the web page, hence the use of appropriate keywords. The content should also be able to aptly describe the product or service that the website is dealing in. It must make sure that the visitor is prompted to buy the products or service being offered.

Whether you are a small business manager, marketer, or website developer yourself, there is more to effective websites than just pretty pictures. While you and I can deduce the relevance of the pictures in the site, search engine bots can only rank by what they can find. Search bots can only see and index the text portions of your site, including page titles and headings - NOT IMAGES.

Also of relevance to search engine ranking, is the number AND quality of incoming links (backlinks) to your site. As a webmaster, you must ensure that incoming links are both ranking well and of relevance to your website. Your own URLs from articles on EzineArticles.com are counted as a relevant link, so carefully ensure that you are using the full company name or organisation's field in the URL.

Real human beings can be impressed at first by website design. But would the Internet function without text or at least audio? I don't think so. Real people are looking for answers in their quest for information or products

Obviously your Home page is the foundation of your website, and it is where most people will land, so it comes first. For most businesses, the Products or Services pages are the next most important. Some businesses like to feature certain products in a box on their home page to draw interest.

For ecommerce websites, it is imperative to make it easy for customers to pay by having an Ordering or Payment page, integrated with a user-friendly shopping cart. Oscommerce open source can help here
